Availability of Weigh Safe System that Includes Weight Distribution

Very interested with the weigh safe hitch, wondering if it has a sway bar system also for a 30 foot Airstream Classic. Thank you

The Weigh Safe ball mounts, like part # WS6-2, do not have a Weight Distribution (WD) system that they are compatible with as a WD system will act as the ball mount. If you need to use a WD system then I recommend using a Tongue Weight Scale # 5780 to help make finding your Tongue Weight (TW) much easier.

We recommend using a WD system if your trailer weighs more than half the weight of your tow vehicle. If this is the case for you then I highly recommend using a WD system.

I really like the Reese Strait-Line systems, like part # RP66084, because they have a built-in sway control that works to fight sway before it starts instead of correcting it after it has started.

You will want to choose a WD system with a TW range that the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your towing setup falls in the middle of. To find the TTW of your towing setup you will need to add the TW of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer along with the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Keep in mind that a properly loaded trailer will have a TW that is 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer.

The Reese option that I mentioned has a TW rating of 600 lbs - 1,200 lbs. If this is the option for you then you will also need a hitch ball. You can use part # A-90 for a 2" option or part # 19286 for a 2-5/16" option.

I have attached some helpful articles for you to check out as well.
