Recommend Camper Hold Downs For 2500 lb Camper
Question:
Are the Erickson heavy duty retractable anchors and Putco pop up anchors heavy duty enough for a 2500lb pop up truck camper?

Expert Reply:
Both the Erickson Tie Down Anchors, part # EM01003 and the Putco Push-Up Tie-Downs, part # P99901, are not designed to be used to hold down campers. The capacity of the Erickson Tie Down Anchors, part # EM01003, is 1,000 lbs.
For a camper tie downs, I would recommend using the Brophy Camper Tie Down, part # HSSF. These camper tie downs are made to be used with the bigger size campers and do not have a capacity. If you have a slide-in bedliner, you will have to trim it or remove it to use part # HSSF. Also, if you have a dually truck, there is a chance that part # HSSF will not work.
The Brophy Camper Tie Downs, par # TDSF, and part # HSSF are not tested and cannot be verified as a fit on import trucks.
You will want to check with your vehicle owners manual to make sure that there are not restrictions on what type of camper tie downs you can use. You will also want to make sure not to exceed the trucks capacity for camper weight as the truck bed walls may not be able to support camper.
