Will Malone RunWay 3 Bike Carrier Fit 35x12.5 Spare Tire and Are Locks Included
Question:
Thank you so much for your quick response and the other options you have on the website. I do like the Hollywood rack and am thinking of purchasing it. It says that it will fit my spare. Do you think it will be okay for a 2014 Jeep Wrangler?

The rubber straps you see on the Malone RunWay 3 Bike Rack # MPG2148 are the webbing straps that will physically secure and hold the bikes in place on the rack. These straps are indeed included with the rack. The locks that you referenced reading about in the description refer to a cable lock like the Malone # MPG2168, which will secure the bikes to the carrier in order to help deter theft. This is not included but I do recommend adding this to help protect your valuables.
I spoke with my contact at Malone and she stated that this carrier will only fit tires that are up to 10.5 inches wide, so it will not work on your 35x12.5 spare tire size. A better option might be a carrier like the Hollywood Racks SR2 # HRSR2, which fits tires up to 12-1/2 inches wide. If you are able to tell the model and year of your vehicle, I will be happy to confirm if this will fit.
I have attached a couple video demonstrations on these carriers that you can also check out.
