Troubleshooting 6-Pole Square Connector Compatibility with 4 Wire System

this is concerning your product, 6-Pole Square Trailer Wiring Connector Kit Car and Trailer Ends Item # 37995 On my hitch, I have wiring that has the female connector just as in your picture with the 6 prongs 5 female and 1 male. However, my wiring is only 4 wires - a thicker white one and 3 colored ones. Your picture shows 6 wires so I am confused if this would work for me. Can you help? Thank you!

If the square connector is the same, then you will simply need to match functions on the 6-Pole Square Trailer Wiring Connector Kit (Car and Trailer Ends) # 37995 for proper connection. I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to match functions. I've linked an article to assist.

You may want to simply change out the ends of your connectors to match each other and use the Quick Fix 4 Pole Flat Car and Trailer Ends # 48195. That would be my personal preference to add clarity to function.
