Truck Bed Bike Carrier Setup for 5 Bikes in 2018 Ford F150

We have a 2018 Ford F150, 4 door, 5 1/2 ft bed and are hoping to find a bike rack to accommodate 5 bikes in the bed of the truck. We prefer a non fork mount option. I like the look of the Topline Carrier Bed Mounted Rack. Do you think I can make this work with 5 bikes? Should I buy two racks, one for 2 bike and one for 3? Thanks

The Topline # UG2500 frame-mount truck bed bike rack is a perfect option for transporting bikes in a pickup bed without having to remove the bikes' front wheels as with fork-mount carriers like Hollywood Racks # HRT970 and Yakima # Y01117.

Since one Topline cannot be configured for 5 bikes (up to 4 only) your idea of using two carriers, one for 3-bikes and one for 2-bikes, is absolutely the way to go. You will then want to order items # UG2500 and # UG2500-3.

If for example two of the bikes are adult size and three are smaller kids bikes then the dual carrier set-up will be convenient since you can use one Topline for each type of bike.

You can also lock the bikes using a cable lock such as # e98891. Locking 5 bike frames together will give any would-be thief a good reason to move on to an easier target.

Will this same configuration (2 and 3 top line) fit 2018 F150 with 6.5’ bed If it has a full size snugtop cargo bed cover installed?

The Topline Bike Carrier # UG2500 could physically mount to the bed rails of your F-150 (I don't believe the SnugTop covers use any hardware on the rails that would interfere) but I'm not sure if there would be enough vertical clearance for your bikes with a cover like this installed, even when open. I honestly think your best route is with a hitch-mounted bike rack like the Thule Roadway # TH912XTR . I linked our full selection below as well.
