Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack System for a 2017 Volkswagen GTI 4 Door

I was looking at buying a car rack for my 2017 volkswagen GTI 4Door and I need to know which Q clips I can use. In your video on youtube, I saw that you used Q63 and Q64 on your installation but Yakima tells me to use different ones on their website. So which ones can I use?

Fits for vehicles change often, or the different body variations for a vehicle can have completely different fits, even if they are largely the same vehicle.

At this time, Yakima has started to retire the Q-Clip system in favor of their newer BaseClip fits. However, for your vehicle, you will need Clips Q63 and Q112.

If you have an existing round bar, or want to add a new kit to your vehicle, I recommend the following:

If you don't have any raised siderails:

Round CrossBars, 48 Inches, part # Y00408
Round Bar SL Adapter for BaseLine Towers, part # Y03536
BaseLine Towers, part # Y00146
BaseClip 123, part # Y06123
BaseClip 125, part # Y06125

If you have raised siderails, you'll instead get:

Round CrossBars, 48 Inches, part # Y00408
Round Bar SL Adapter for BaseLine Towers, part # Y03536
TimberLine Towers, part # Y00147

Either of these kits will let you update your QTower system to your current vehicle and use it immediately.

I recommend adding a lock kit, part # Y07204, to add security to your roof rack, a direct upgrade over the QTower System.
