Question:
Im trying to figure out what I need for a 5th wheel hitch for my new 2500 Chevy truck. My truck came with the puck system in it. I have been told that I wont need to buy any additional rails but every thing that I am reading on the web site says different. I need at least a 16000 pound rating and since I have the short bed would prefer the slider hitch. Thanks

For your 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the factory pucks, I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3770 for your short bed. This is rated higher than the 16K you needed as a minimum and is able to be installed in two pieces. It is one of our most popular sliding hitches for the factory rail kit/puck system.
Another option I recommend is the Curt A16 5th Wheel Slider # C16521 along with the specific adapter rail # C16023 for the correct fit. This is a easy to use two piece system with the ability to install in 3 parts.
With either hitch option, I also recommend the Draw-Tite 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness 7-Pole # 20110 to add a second trailer connection to the inside of your truck bed for easy connection access.
