Thank you very much for your question, we want to make sure you have enough room to fit your auxiliary fuel tank when installing a Curt Q20 5th wheel.

I talked to the manufacturer and they recommended the Curt Custom 5th Wheel Bracket Kit # C16424-104 this will provide up to 61'' of clearance when installing your 5th wheel hitch on the short bed. The size of the fuel tank would also factor in.

On the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with R20 Slider # C16536 for example, the Hitch height is 17 1/2 to 21 1/2 inches. The Slider travel is 12" front to back. Hopefully, this will provide enough room to fit your needs.
