Twist link chains offer excellent traction in deep snow and some are even rated for mud. They provide decent traction on ice, and since they have rounded edges ride quality isn't too bad. V-Bar chains are similar but have better grip on ice.

For your Ram 3500 with tires sized 275/55/20 a twist link chain would be the Titan Chain # TC2228CAM. These also come with cams for a desired tight fit.

For V-bar chains you can use the Titan Chain # TC2828 chains. These can be used on or off road.

Thank you for letting me know the tire size. If you like the V-Bar style more then Titan Chains # TC2828CAM are a great option. They have a ladder pattern meaning the chains are perpendicular across the tire tread. The chains also feature cam tighteners to help make the chains snug and stay in place. The next step up from there is a set of Glacier chains, # PWH3829SC, which have the same pattern and also have cam tighteners but included the added benefit of ice spikes for better grip on icy surfaces. If you prefer the twist link design then Titan Chain # TC2228CAM is a solid option that won't break the bank. They also feature cam tighteners. A step up from there is again the Glacier chains # PWH3229SC which is going to be a higher quality chain and will last longer. None of the twist link options for this tire size are Class S compatible which means they are not recommended if you have limited clearance. Always consult the vehicle owner's manual for additional information on the use of tire chains.
