Comparison of B&W and Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Install Bracket Kits for a 2017 Ford F-350

Question:

I’m currently looking for a custom installation bed rail system for a 5th wheel hitch. I have a 2017 F350 longbed XLT 4x4. I have poured over both the Reese and B&W systems and I am curious as to whether there is a major difference between the two or are they essentially the same when it comes to install and use. Thank you.

Essentially the install brackets kits that fit your 2017 Ford F-350 accomplish the same thing. And when you compare the Reese # RP50074-58 and the B&W # BWRVK2402 they even install in the same location. They're custom kits so they use existing holes in your truck's frame. So you don't have to drill into the frame.

With that being said, there is a second Reese kit, part # RP56017-53. This kit is an outboard install which means the brackets install on the outside of the frame rails. Which is much easier to access. The other two kits install on the inside of the frame rails. The # RP56017-53 kit is the easiest and fastest to install of the three. Also, the base rails are longer so they can reach all the way to the outside part of the frame, but they also take up more space in the bed.
