How to Modify Drum Brake Actuator Coupler for Use with Disc Brakes
Question:
I plan to upgrade to discs brakes eventually. Can I purchase the dexter 1600psi for disk and use on my drum brakes in the mean time? Yes, or is there a regulator i can limit psi.

Brake fluid pressure requirements for disc and drum brakes are too different to allow use of a disc actuator on drum brakes. Disc brakes typically need 1500-psi while drums need about 1000-psi.
Brake proportioning valves do exist but we do not sell them. From a safety standpoint we do not like to recommend using a device like that. We always recommend using the appropriate actuator for the type of brakes on the trailer.
Some actuators can take either drum-brake-pressure master cylinders or disc-brake-pressure master cylinders. This allows a coupler such as Titan # T2478100 to be converted from drum to disc brake pressure by installing disc master cylinder part # T4749501042.
