Recommended Replacement Hubs and Drums for AL-KO 8490 Hubs on Weekend Warrior Trailer
Question:
I have a ww fs2300. The drums are stamped al-ko 8490 / wf4 / 4902. I looked at your replacements AKHD-545-35-EZ-K but the wheel mounting surface appears to be built up more the area behind the studs. I have space limitations in regards to overall axle width due to a poor design by ww. I want to make sure these do not increase the width over the stock ones. Thank you

Based on my research, it looks like your AL-KO 8490 hubs are designed for 3,500 pound axles, feature a 10 x 2-1/4 inch drum and have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. The etrailer.com Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K referenced in your question is very likely the correct replacement hub and drum for your trailer. In order to confirm this, I do recommend pulling your existing hub to see if it uses the # L68149 inner bearing and # L44649 outer bearing. This information should be stamped onto the bearings themselves. As long as the bearing information matches up to your current set, this assembly will work perfectly as a replacement.
The hub will sit on the spindle at the same location as your current hubs, so you wll not need to worry about it being larger in width.
I have attached an installation video on this hub and drum that you might also find helpful.
