Recommended Engine Oil and Transmission Fluid Cooler for 5th Wheel Towing with a 2013 Ford F-150

Question:

We have a 2013 F-150 4X4 SuperCrew EcoBoost 6-speed Transmission Short Wheel Base with a tow capacity 11,300. Were towing a Forest River Flagstaff Super Lite 5th Wheel, Dry 9647 weight with loaded weight of 11,062. The truck tows without any issues till we get into the mountains. Then are temp on the truck starts creeping up on us. I back off on the Speed and the temp goes back to Normal Range. Im thinking about having an Oil Cooler added as well upgrading our Transmission Cooler. Our towing so far has been in New Mexico and Arizona. Along highways 550 and 491 and I-40 in New Mexico. Towing in Arizona has been I-40 and S.R. 87 and in the Lower freeway in Arizona. Our Creeping up of temp has been on S.R. 87 from Phoenix Az. to Payson Az.

I have exactly what you will need to lower both the engine oil and transmission fluid temperatures in your 2013 Ford F-150 while towing your 5th wheel trailer. For this, I recommend using the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler part # D15902. As the title states this is a two in one cooler that will drop the temperature of both your vehicle's engine oil and transmission fluid around 20 to 30 degrees fahrenheit.

This cooler measures 17" wide x 12-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep and as long as you have this much space behind your grille and in front of your radiator/condenser it will work well for you. The kit comes with everything you will need for installation. Most customers with at least a bit of mechanical aptitude can install one of them in about 1 to 2 hours. I have attached a sample installation video for you below as well. In the kit are 5 engine oil filter thread adapters, you will want to use the 22mmx1.5" adapter which is the one with a green paint marking.

Question:

I watched the Video on the installation of the oil cooler. It is very helpful. Is there a Video on installation for a 2013 F-150 4X4?

Unfortunately, we do not yet have an installation video of the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler part # D15902 on a 2013 Ford F-150. However, the process shown in the attached install video will be very similar to your setup. I have also attached the written instructions of the cooler for you as well.
