Question:
What is the recommended height above centerline of front axle on straight axle jeeps for proper tracking of vehicle when being towed. What is the maximum height. This is a concern when purchasing an aftermarket front bumper for a jeep that has been lifted with recovery points where a tow bar may be attached for flat towing of the Jeep. Some are higher from the centerline of the front axle and some are lower. - Thanks

Many aftermarket bumpers are available for Jeep vehicles and many of those bumpers have D-ring attachment points that could accept D-Ring Bumper Mount adapters like # RM-035-1. You will want to confirm that your specific aftermarket bumper is rated for flat towing the vehicle, and not just for recovery purposes. Not all bumpers are rated appropriately for the flat towing so this is definitely something to confirm.
What really matters here is that the tow bar is level when connected at both ends. It can be up to 3-inches higher or lower than dead-level at either end but never more than 3-inches off either way. The tow bar arms could bind if the bar is severely out of level.
The height of the bar is really a function of the height of the bumper attachment points and which high/low hitch adapter you use. The linked article and adapter page will help you find the correct one to keep a tow bar level.
