Although the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75712, which has a Gross Towing Weight (GTW) of 3,500 lbs and a Tongue Weight (TW) of 525 lbs, and the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13081, which has a GTW of 4,000 lbs and a TW of 400 lbs, have weight ratings that may be able to handle the weight of your loaded jet ski trailer you will need to check your owner's manual to determine if your 2016 Jeep Compass can safely tow it.
I looked up an online version of your owner's manual and found on page 433 that if you have the trailer tow prep package of the Freedom Drive II Off road Package your Compass is rated for a 2,000 lb trailer with a TW of 300 lbs. If you don't have either of those then you are limited to a 1,000 lb trailer with a TW of 150 lbs.
You can use a TW scale like part # e99044 to find your TW but to determine the total weight of your trailer you will need to take it to a weight scale when it is fully loaded.
If you are able to tow your ski boat trailer, then you will also need a wiring kit like part # 118539 for basic lighting functions and a ball mount kit like # C45036 to tow the trailer. I have attached a helpful article on ball mounts to help you determine if this is the correct kit for you.
Should your trailer have brakes then you will also want to install our Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 along with a brake controller like the popular Prodigy P3 # 90195. I have attached a video of this set being installed on a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that you can use as a reference for the installation.
