Is Fascia Trimming Required to Install Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2008 Honda Element SC

part #75659 for 2008 Honda Element SC states fascia trimming required, but there is no where in the installation that explains this. What does this require? Thanks.

There is some fascia trimming required for the SC model of the 2008 Honda Element when you install the Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver part # 75659. The SC has a different rear bumper than the other models and part of the hitch needs to go through the lower edge of the bumper. It's briefly mentioned in the install details, that I've linked, but it doesn't actually list it as a step in the process. At the very to of the instructions there's an asterisk for the SC which then mentions the trimming.

Take a look at the picture I've attached that another customer submitted to us. You can see the cut out on the bumper that this customer had to do on his 2010 SC. The picture is kind of dark around where the receiver tube is but you can see the cut out.
