Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Adapter for 2010 Ram 3500

Question:

I currently have a 2010 Ram 3500 dual wheel with a Draw Tite turn over gooseneck hitch installed. I was curious if this fifth wheel hitch will install without having to remove the current hitch? Thx

There is a way for you to tow a fifth wheel trailer with a gooseneck hitch but the Curt Q25 # C16265 you referenced is not compatible with the Draw-Tite gooseneck hitch in your 2010 Ram 3500.

If that hitch is the Hide-A-Goose # 9464-57 you could use the Draw-Tite Hi-Rise Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # 9480. This hitch has a capacity of 18,000 lbs along with a 9" king pin funnel width. I've added a link to a video review of this product for you to take a look at as well.

Question:

Is there any other options rated for more weight? I was really looking for something with a minimum of 20K more like 24-26K... Would you suggest any other fifth wheel options that would work or I was also considering removing the current gooseneck hitch and having just a fifth wheel hitch. I understand that removing the current gooseneck it would open options to whatever.. just hate to remove it and then have hole in bed..Thx

There is a way for you to have both a gooseneck and fifth wheel hitch with a 20,000 lb towing capacity though you would need to remove your Draw-Tite gooseneck and install the B&W Companion. The Companion is a fifth wheel hitch that, when removed, has rails that double as a gooseneck hitch.

The Companion is considered by many to be the highest-quality fifth wheel hitch available. With more than 400 reviews from customers who have purchased it, the Companion has gotten a nearly unanimous 5-star rating.
It features dual jaws which are a full 1" thick to provide complete contact with your king pin so you can have faith that your connection is completely secure. The Companion is also going to give you a much quieter ride with less rattling than other fifth wheels due to that secure connection, along with the polyurethane bushings it has.

It also has a pivoting head to make hooking up easier, a cam-action latch to deter binding, offers three different height settings to ensure you are level with your fifth wheel. and has a towing capacity of 20,000 lbs while the gooseneck offers 30,000 lbs of capacity.

There are going to be different combinations of what you'd need depending on the bed size and engine of your 2010 Ram 3500.

If you have a 6-1/2 foot bed you need sliding hitch # BWRVK3400-5W and for the rails - or gooseneck hitch - you would want # BWGNRK1308-5W if you have a gas engine or # BWGNRK1313-5W if you have a diesel engine. Please keep in mind this hitch will not work if you have a Mega Cab on your Ram.

Should you have an 8 foot bed the Companion fifth wheel you need is # BWRVK3500-5W and rails # BWGNRK1308-5W if you have a gas engine or # BWGNRK1313-5W if you have a diesel engine.

I've added links to video reviews of this product for you to take a look at.
