Class I trailer hitch receivers like # 24847 have a distance of about 1-5/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the welded stop in the back of the hitch receiver tube. Class I ball mounts like # 3594 normally are about 1-9/16 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back to allow fit. The Class I hitches have this welded stop to ensure only Class I rated accessories will fit so you don't overload your hitch capacity.
The Class II trailer hitches do not have the welded stop, but the pin hold is in the same position normally 2-3/8 inches from front to center of hitch pin with a 1/2 inch diameter. The difference is because the weld is not present most ball mounts and accessories will be about 2 inches from the hitch pin hole center to the back for the additional receiver support and strength.
