Question:
Hi, in my question, it states it will decrease my hitch capacity by 50 percent. Ive tried to find out what that means, but need some clarification. Would this be referring to tongue weight, or the GTW of the receiver? Not sure how to interpret this. Any clarification would be much appreciated.

When using the Curt Receiver Tube Adapter # D-192, what a 50 percent reduction means is that the hitch's towing capacity and tongue weight - both - will have their capacities reduced by 50 percent. As a simple example, if your hitch had a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs and tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs then using adapter # D-192 will reduce the towing capacity to 2,500 lbs and tongue weight capacity to 250 lbs.
