Question:
I am getting another CURT bike rack/hitch. This time for my 2015 Prius. After watching install and test videos for C11276 and C18085, I did not see the need for nor reference to the stabilizing straps. Yet, the text disclaimer says that are necessary for warranty coverage. Really? Also, while I like the locking padded arms on the rack, I did not see any reference to a locking pin to keep someone from just removing the entire rack. I didnt see locking pins for purchase on your site. Thanks.

With the Curt Class I hitches you have to use the stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack otherwise you will void the hitch warranty. The easy solution for that is to go with a Draw Tite hitch part # 24967 instead as this hitch does not have that requirement and would work well with the Curt bike rack part # C18085 you mentioned.
In this price range the Hollywood Racks # HR200Z is a way more solid option that I would recommend for you over the Curt. This will be much more stable in the hitch and will overall just be a better bike rack. To lock this you'd need the part # HRLHPTC which will lock the rack to the vehicle and bikes to the rack.
Check out the test course videos I attached for both racks to see the difference in stability.
