Can Swagman Chinook be Modified to Sit Further Away from Rear Bumper on 2012 Mazda 3

Hello, I recently purchased a Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver for my 2012 Mazda 3 GT Hatchback as well as a Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack. Install for the receiver was flawless, and the bike rack works great when in use. However when trying to use the fold-up feature when not in use, it rubs against the rear bumper fascia by only a few millimeters of contact. I tried adjusting the hitch, but the way it is bolted prevents fore / aft movement. Is there anyway to adjust the bike rack or hitch if needed to be able to fold the rack up? Thanks

You can't really safely modify the Chinook # S64683 or the hitch. If it is a wheel cradle that is rubbing against the back of your 2012 Mazda 3 then you could remove the end caps, slide the wheel cradles off, and either keep them off or put them on the rack upside down so that when the rack is folded up they would be sticking out away from the back of the vehicle.
