What PSI Rating is Needed in an Electric Over Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuator for Disc Brakes
Question:
What psi breaking unit do I need to replace vacuum/hydraulic breaking system? I have not gotten info from Airstream.

Expert Reply:
Since your Airstream trailer has disk brakes, you will need a hydraulic brake actuator with a higher psi rating, 1,500 or higher, because disc brakes require more pressure than drum brakes. The Titan BrakeRite, # T4813102, is designed for electric over hydraulic braking systems on trailers with disc brakes and is rated at 1,500 psi. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
In order to control the actuator, you will also need a brake controller that is compatible with electric over hydraulic systems. I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885, because it is easy to set up and easy to use. I have included a link to the installation details for reference.
With the year, make, and model of the towing vehicle, I would be able to tell you everything you would need to install the brake controller in the vehicle.
