Parts Needed To Upgrade Utility Trailer Wiring And Change To LED Lights

Question:

I have a 5 x 10 foot utility trailer I want to rewire and install LEDs. I need the LEDs and wiring. I installed brakes on it that I've purchased from you about 2 years ago. My truck has a 7-pin connector and I already have the 8-pin male adapter. I want to rewire the whole thing because whoever did it before me was terrible and I just want a fresh start. Need help. Thank you!

Glad to help you tackle your wiring project. For the brake circuit of your trailer and your ground you will need 10 gauge wire like Item # 10-1-1 that we sell by the foot. For the rest of your wires, you will need 12 gauge wire like Item # 12-1-1 which we also sell by the foot.

We have had several customers ask about ways to better organize the wires and a great way to do that is with a junction box like Item # 38656 where you can wire all the circuits to.

Additional hardware you might need for your wiring project is: 3/16 Inch Ring Terminals, Item # 44-5310A, 1/4 Inch Ring Terminals, Item # DW05702-1, 12-10 Gauge Butt Connectors, Item # 05732-2, 16-14 Gauge Butt Connectors, Item # 05731-5, and always good to have some electrical tape. And finally 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot and 12 gauge wire # 12-1-1.

For new LED trailer lights, I recommend the Optronics LED Trailer Light Kit, Item # TLL9RK. I have also attached a link to our available inventory.
