The main difference between a ST205/75-14 size tire like the Contender # AC14R45SM and a ST215/75-14 size tire like the Taskmaster Provider Item # TTWTR21514 is that the larger number is a slightly larger size.

The 205 has a section width of 7.99" and an outer diameter that measures 26.14" while the 215 has a section width of 8.5" and an outer diameter of 27". Each tire size has a variety of load ranges. Although there isn't a "set" weight capacity of a load range, you can find the load range of each tire on the product page for our site. For example, part # TTWA14RWS is a load range C which means the max load is 1,760 lbs at 50 psi while a load range D would have a capacity of 2,200 lbs at 65 psi. You always want to keep the cold psi of your tires at what is recommended by the manufacturer.

Seeing an R in the size of a trailer does tires indicate that it is a Radial tire. If the tire has a D that means it is Bias. Radial tires are better for highway use because they have a little more flex in their sidewalls which allows them to run cooler at higher speeds. Although Bias can be used on the highway, since they have a sidewall that is more stiff they are better used for off-road purposes like agricultural.

I have linked a few helpful articles that you can check out which go into some more details on trailer tires and how to use the numbers on the sidewall to determine their size.

@Jay Absolutely! The difference is small enough that you don't have to worry about any clearance issues.
