How to Carry Two Bikes on a Truck with a Truck Bed Camper

I have a camper that extends 24 inches beyond my rear bumper and would like carry 2 bikes. Could I use the MT70070 to raise the clearance and then put an 18 inch extender into the MT70070 to get it punt past the back of the camper and then put my bike rack into the 18 inch extender? I only plan on carrying 2 bikes so I’m hoping this would be strong enough.

I do have an option for you but you cannot use two adapters together. The use of even one adapter would decrease the vehicle/hitches tongue weight capacity by 50%. This means that the weight of the two bikes plus weight of the carrier would need to be below 50% of either the vehicle or trailer hitches tongue weight capacity. If the vehicle's tongue weight capacity is lower than the hitches tongue weight capacity than this is the figure you will need to go by or vice versa.

Instead, you are going to to want to use something like the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension part # TLE1521 which will require a TorkLift SuperHitch to be used. If you can provide me with the year, make, and model of your truck I would be happy to see if we have a TorkLift SuperHitch available for you.

A better and more cost effective option for you would be to carry the bikes on the front of the vehicle with a hitch mounted bike rack and front mount trailer hitch receiver. In order to recommend the correct front mount trailer hitch receiver I would again need to know the year, make, and model of your truck.
