Do the Front Tow Hooks have to be Removed For Front Trailer Hitch Installation, 2009 Dodge Ram 1500
Question:
Truck is a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie. Question is, this truck has front tow hooks installed from the factory that appear to use the same mount points as this front hitch would use. Will the tow hooks have to be removed or get in the way otherwise? Also, the tow hooks appear to have rubber bushings on one of the mount points, will the hitch cause any problems with that?

To install the CURT Front Mount Receiver, # 31374, the tow hooks will need to be permanently removed. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. Removal of the tow hooks is the first step. Since the hooks will be removed, the bushings you see will also need to be removed so the hitch can be properly installed.
