Fifth Wheel Solution for 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Short Bed with B and W Gooseneck Hitch Installed

Question:

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 6 1/2 foot box. I am wanting to know my options for installing a 5th wheel. I already have the 5th wheel and rails so I just need the brackets and hardware. The truck also currently has a turnover ball gooseneck hitch and am wondering if I need to remove this? Thanks in advance.

So you'll have a couple options. Ideally you go with a Companion Slider hitch part # BWRVK3400 which will fit directly to the B and W Turnoverball hitch you have installed in the bed of your truck. This will basically give you the nicest hitch around and the ability to still tow a gooseneck trailer if you need to.

Otherwise the Turnoverball has to get removed from your truck to install a set of fifth wheel rails. To pick out the correct brackets I'd need to know the brand of rails that you currently have as you can't mix bracket and rail manufacturers. If they were Reese though you could use the # RP50140 with the hardware kit part # 58164 and you'd be set.
