Comparing the Hollywood Sport Rider, Thule T2 Pro XTB, and the RockyMounts BackStage Bike Racks

Question:

Thanks for the reply, very informative. I was also looking at the Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2 Hitches - Tilting - Black and the Rocky Mounts BackStage 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2 Hitches - Swinging - Wheel Mount and trying to guess between Swagman but they have so any models that I am confused. Do you think the Hollywood would be my best bet? I told Conor I have a 2000 Chinook Concourse which is built onto a Ford F350. It has a rear door and a step but that is where the hitch is located, under the step at rear. He suggested to put a hitch in front and load a rack there. I wrote asking about the Hollywood Sport Rider SE but am also looking at the Thule T2 Pro XTB , and Rocky Mounts Back Stage 2, and have looked at Swagman but am sooo confused by so many models. My follow up question was is there much difference between these, is the Hollywood best for 2 ebikes? Also can not find anywhere to leave review for Conor, he was great, thanks to him

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE part # HLY84FR, Thule T2 Pro XTB part # TH9034XT, and the RockyMounts BackStage 2 Bike Platform Rack part # RKY10002 are all top of the line bike racks from their respective manufacturers. The best one for you will depend on what type of bike you have.

For example, if you have an alternate frame (step-through)bike then you are going to want to consider a wheel mount bike rack like the BackStage or the T2 Pro XTB because they hold the bikes by the wheels which will offer a better fit for alternative frame bikes. However, if your bikes have fenders then you are going to want to consider a frame mount bike rack like the Sport Rider as a wheel mount bike rack will not work with bikes that have fenders. If you have both fenders and an alternative frame then you are going to want to consider a frame mount bike rack like the Sport Rider with the use of an adapter bar like part # HRBA-PRO.

The other key factor you will need to take into consideration in regards to a bike rack for an electric bike is the weight of the bike. The Sport Rider has a weight capacity of 80 lbs per bike whereas the BackStage and T2 Pro XTB both have a weight capacity of 60 lbs per bike. I have also attached a review video of each rack for you to take a look at as well.
