Is the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03700 Plastic or Metal
Question:
Hi is this vent made of metal or plastic? I’m concerned about a plastic one degrading over time from the sun. If it’s plastic then do you have a similar item made of metal that still keeps out rain, bugs and debris while being left open? Thanks.

The MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03700 that you referenced is made out of a durable plastic that actually does a really good job against the sun.
If you wanted a total metal vent then you could use the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2110SP-24 which is also a manually operated vent. The thing about this kit though is that it will keep out bugs and debris when left open but not rain. To keep it open while it is raining you would need to use a cover like the MaxxAir Standard RV and Trailer Roof Vent Cover # MA00-933066...which is made of plastic.
I recommend going with the Mini since plastic will also do a better job at resisting corrosion than the metal would.
