What is the Tongue Weight of a 2018 Trailrunner 302 SLE Trailer

I have a 2018 Heartland Trailrunner 302 SLE on the sticker the dry weight is 6600 and fully loaded is 9000. It has a listed tongue weight of 1025. Trying to figure out if that is dry weight or fully loaded. I am making the assumption it is fully loaded as that would be about 15 of the total trailer weight

You pretty much never see a trailer's loaded tongue weight listed as a spec. The 1,025 pound tongue weight is likely dry because that's just a bit over 15 percent of the dry weight of 6,600 pounds.

I'm assuming you're trying to find out the loaded trailer's tongue weight so you can choose the correct weight distribution system. If so, using the listed specs isn't the best way to go. Even if the 1,025 pounds is the maximum loaded tongue weight you still can't use that number to choose a system because it isn't necessarily the tongue weight of your trailer when you load it. Its tongue weight will be determined on how heavy it is when loaded, and also how it's loaded. To choose a properly weighted system you want the find the tongue weight of your trailer when you have it loaded just as it will be when you're towing it. I've attached a help article you can use to help you find your tongue weight. The easiest way is to use a scale like the # e99044, and weight your trailer's tongue when it's loaded.

In addition to the trailer's loaded tongue weight you also need to add in the amount of weight you're going to have stored behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. When it comes to weight distribution this acts as tongue weight.

Once you have the figure you need you want it to fall somewhere within the range that the system you choose is rated for. The closer to middle of the range the better. If you'd like to let me know what you come up with when determine the trailer's loaded tongue weight I can make a specific recommendation on a proper system. In the mean time I've linked our complete selection of weight distribution systems that include sway control for you to take a look at.
