Tow Mirror Recommendation for 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I saw an early question answered about mirrors for a newer model Grand Cherokee, https://www.etrailer.com/question-233091.html. Ive been reading online and found that a lot of reviewers of mirrors, maybe not the ones suggested in particular but in general, that the design of the mirrors on the GC make fitment a problem. The mirrors taper off towards the ends and lots of reviewers suggest that the extenders have a tendency to slide toward the ends and come loose, some have fallen off after 100 miles or so. Do you know if the mirrors suggested in the previous answered question, CIPA #11953, suffer from that problem? Do you know of any customer complaints about this issue?

We had the chance to install the universal tow mirrors part # 7070-2 on a similar 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee to your 2016 model and we found that they fit and worked well. Check out the demo video I attached below to see how well they fit and perfor. I also attached an install picture as well.

As long as the lip of the mirrors is grabbing the mirror housing like it's supposed to it won't slip off.

For your 2020 Durango I highly recommend the K-Source # KS3891-2. I really like the ratcheting design on the straps that allows for a tight fit and easy removal. We also test-fitted these on a 2018 model Durango and they worked great.
