Does a CURT Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Honda CR-V need to be Torqued a Certain Amount
Question:
How important is it to tighten this hitch using a torque wrench as I do not have such a thing. Would using lock-washers or lock-tight accomplish the same thing?

Tightening down the CURT Trailer Hitch, # 13555, to the specifications in the instructions, linked for reference, is very important. You do not want to make it too tight or you could contort the hitch or vehicle metal or break a weld nut. Too loose and the hitch will not be safely secured.
Lock washers and/or Lock-Tite are used to help hold the nut/bolt in the proper position one it has been correctly torqued according to the instructions and should not be used in place of a torque wrench.
The good news is many auto parts stores will loan tools so you can borrow a torque wrench with the proper rating to complete the installation. I have also included a link to a video showing a typical installation of this hitch.
