How to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2008 GMC Yukon XL
Question:
Hello. I purchased a transmission cooler part number D13504. The instructions are not to specific on which hoses connect to which transmission lines. It’s for a 2008 yukon xl 5.3 V8.

If you take a look at the attached install video on a similar 2009 GMC Yukon XL. You will see that the line that attaches to the upper right hand corner (passengers side) of the radiator is the return line and will be used to install the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13504. However, it is always good practice to start the vehicle and let it warm then grab each of the transmission lines that go to the transmission. The colder of the two lines will be the return line.
Please keep in mind that you will need an adapter like part # D13035 to install this cooler on your vehicle.
