I purchased a truck cap with Yakima control towers that lock.. The previous owner did not provide a key for the locks.. is there a specific key for these, perhaps a master or a few different options.. please let me know my best option

If the locks on your Yakima Control Towers are currently unlocked then you are able to remove the lock cylinders with a control key # Y8007835 and retrieve the lock number which will be on the side of the lock cylinder. That way I can help you get Yakima replacement keys such as # Y8772-A152. Let me know if you get the lock number and I will get you the correct replacement key.
If the Yakima Control Towers are currently locked, you may need a locksmith to drill the locks. Then you could remove the lock cylinders as explained above.
When it comes to the Yakima Control Towers, like the Replacement Control Tower for Factory-Installed Tracks # Y8890027, the best option is replacing the locks with the Yakima's Same Key System (SKS) locks. These SKS lock cores are available in a number of different quantities, but in order to lock/unlock 4 Control Towers you will want 4 lock cores, # Y07204.
The SKS Lock Cores # Y07204 come with 2 keys to lock and unlock the cores, as well as 1 control key that is used when installing the lock core. There is not a cap that will be installed over the end of the lock core.
