Is the EZ5 Base Plate Kit RM-521424-5 on a 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ Compatible with Falcon 2 RM-520

I currently tow a 2011 Honda Fit using a Falcon 2 tow bar. However, I plan to start towing a 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Will base plate RM-521424-5 work with my tow bar? Will I need a cross bar and if I do, will I be able to use my current one from my Honds Fit? I know Ill need lights, I plan to use the same Brake Buddy and safety chains I currently use but will purchase a new break away switch. Is there anything else Ill need? Thanks

The Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit # RM-521424-5 is compatible with your 1999 Jeep TJ if it has a double tube bumper or a U-channel bumper and it does not have front leaf springs. If you have the Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 then they are compatible and you won't need an adapter.

For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. Since we already have the base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, and braking system taken care of that just leaves wiring and a high-low adapter.

I like to recommend the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 because after the initial installation it is just plug-n-play before towing. You may also want to install the Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 from your battery to the middle pin so that your battery will be charged while you are towing.

Most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters as well as a helpful article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application for you to check out.

Attached are some installation instructions and videos for you to reference. It is always best to check your owner's manual as well for any specific instructions regarding flat towing.
