I am looking for a replacement option for a lost bracket for an old Yakima rocket box and the bottom bracket part of the mount looks similar. Im aware that Yakima no longer makes the part

There is mounting hardware that will work for your older Yakima Rocketbox but the # Y8870040 is not going to fit a Rocketbox.
Instead, if you have a Rocketbox model Y07191, Y07192, or Y07193 you need Replacement Quick-Dial Mounting Assembly for Yakima RocketBox Pro # Y8870097.
Or if you have a Rocketbox model 16 you need Replacement Mounting Hardware for Yakima SkyBox and Rocketbox 16 # Y90135.
