Bike Rack for Use Behind Fifth Wheel or Travel Trailer

Question:

I see it says not for use with fifth wheel or travel trailer. What is the reasoning on this? And are there racks that are for use in the rear of a travel trailer.

There are bike racks available for the rear of a fifth wheel or travel trailer, though they must be rated for such by the manufacturer because it is a far rougher ride than the rear of a standard vehicle and could result in the rack and bikes being damaged.

There are no 5-bike racks such as the Curt # C18065 that can be used behind a trailer, but a similar 4-bike rack I recommend is the Swagman Trailhead # S63381. This hanging rack secures your bikes at three different points, ensuring they do not come into contact with each other or your trailer; it fits a 2" hitch and has a weight capacity of 35 lbs per bike.

The Trailhead does come with an anti-rattle pin and clip, though you can add Anti-Rattle Lock # S64027 to replace it and lock the rack to your hitch to help protect your investment.
