Can a Hitch Extender be Used With Bike Rack to Get Around Spare Tire?

Can I use a 8 inch hitch extension adapter with this trailer HLY84FR to get around the spare tire on a 2009 RAV4?

Though you can use an 8" extender such as the Curt # C45791 with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack # HLY84FR, the tongue weight capacity of your hitch will be reduced by 50 percent, which means the amount of weight your bike rack and bikes can be is reduced by half. An extender will also have a tongue weight capacity and you would be limited by whatever is less - the extender's capacity or half of your hitch's capacity.

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR weighs 54 lbs and has a weight capacity of 80 lbs per bike. If you had the Draw-Tite # 75235, which has a 675 lb tongue weight capacity, installed on your 2009 Toyota RAV4 you could use Curt hitch extender # C45791 (which has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity) and you would remain above the maximum potential of 220 lbs that the Sport Rider and two e-bikes could be.
