Ladder Mounted RV Bike Rack

Question:

Could this rack hold bikes securely if mounted vertically? Would like to mount vertically on the ladder of an RV to hold bikes with wheels on. Wheels get stuffed in the camper or sadly forgotten!

There is actually a bike rack designed to do exactly what you want, though the Swagman Chinook # S64683 cannot be mounted vertically or on a ladder and is not rated for use behind an RV.

Instead, I recommend the Surco 2 Bike Carrier - Ladder Mount # SP501BR, which uses brackets to clamp around the 1" diameter tubing of your ladder rack; you can see how this is used in the accompanying photo. This bike carrier has a 75 lb weight capacity, can haul 2 bikes vertically and uses cushioned cradles to hold the bikes firmly in place. I do highly recommend using Cable Lock # e98891 to protect your investment, this will allow you to lock your rack to the ladder and your bikes to the rack.
