Question:
Bought a 2016 F-350 with 2.5 inch receiver. I went and bought a curt 2 inch shank off ebay and put a reese head on the new shank to get my height adjustment. Put the reese adapter in and thought everything was good. Made trip to Myrtle beach and back to Sanford NC which is about 300 miles and the Hitch pin was bent. Not good!!! Do you recommend the part number EQ90-02-4800. Will this fit my reese head. I guess the adapter has too much play. I guess I wasted the 85 dollars I paid for the 2 Inch shank on ebay.

Using a 2-1/2 inch shank for your 2-1/2 inch hitch is important when using weight distribution. There is so much more torque on that shank and pin that it just isn't ideal as you experienced. The Curt Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2" Hitches # EQ90-02-4800 will work well with your Reese weight distribution system head. The hole spacing and other measurements will line up perfectly. If you need more than the 1-3/4 inch drop of a trunnion system or 3-3/4 inch drop of a round bar system, then I recommend using the Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank # RP54977 which is a 5-3/4 inch drop but for trunnion bar systems only.
Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank - Trunnion Only - 5-3/4" Drop, 8-1/4" Rise - 1,700 lbs TW
Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 2-1/2" Hitch - 8" Rise, 4" Drop
