Cleaning Weld Nuts Prior to Installation of Hitch on 2006 Toyota RAV4
Question:
I need a trailer hitch for my 2006 RAV4. I see that this Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, item # 75235, is a recommended model. I anticipate that I will need to tap the holes in the frame due to rust. What size and pitch should get for the tap? Is it 12mm diameter with 1.25 mm pitch? Thanks!

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75235 is a confirmed fit for your 2006 Toyota RAV4. It utilizes bolt M12x1.25x40 so yes, that tap is correct.
However, before you re-rap your threads I recommend using Nylon Tube Brush - 1/2" # 814092 and penetrating oil lubricant. I've attached an article to assist further with cleaning weld nuts.
