Troubleshooting Trailer Tire Camber on 1999 ShoreLandr Double Jet Ski Trailer with Torsion Axles

1999 shorelander double jet ski trailer with torsion axels....the tires are tipped in at the top 3/4 inch on left and 7/8 inch on right is this to much?

Expert Reply:

Because your tires are tilted in at the top and are not equal side to side, it sounds like you are overloading the axle or the torsion coils aren't working as they should. Trailer axles are intended to be slightly bent upward when unloaded so that under the proper weight capacity they level out and don't have a camber. Having that camber will most definitely wear your tires unevenly as the weight and friction will be on the inside edge of your tires.

If you are interested in correcting the issue, I recommend using the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System like # A35RS545, which will allow the width of your axle from hub to hub to be precise in fit and the strength of your suspension to support your needs. Trailer spindle camber can't be adjusted, so I recommend replacing.
