Trailer Brakes Lock Up When Trailer Connected with 2016 Nissan Frontier

I ordered and installed the recommended 7 way trailer kit and when I hooked my rv up and plugged the trailer connection to my truck the trailer brakes locked up check the trailer wiring all good check the wiring kit and found no 12 volts on the black wire and 12 volts on the blue wire trailer brake out put how to fix

It sounds like the brake output (blue) wire and the 12 volt power (black) wire have been switched. This is a pretty common problem on Nissan's so much so that we have an entire help article on the issue which I have attached for you. The fix is very easy though, all you need to do is switch the blue and black wires at the back of the trailer connector. In order to do this I recommending the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connectors part # DW05745-5.
