Is it possible to change my lubricatant in my oil bath axles from oil to grease? What do you think is better if I can change it? Leave it oil or change to grease? Thank you in advance.Dexter 12k oil bath axles

The Dexter 12K oil bath axles can be changed over to grease without any issues. The oil does keep the bearings lubricated well, but there is a much higher risk of leaking which leads to a much higher risk of failure. I'd personally move to grease # L11390 and make sure it is packed well into the bearings using # PTW1218. This will allow you to use your same bearings and oil cap, but you will need to replace the seal once removed to pack the inner bearing. For that you can use # 10-56.

I have a 2019 gooseneck trailer with tandem single wheel Dexter axles with oil bath hubs. All are leaking, and one loses all of its oil withing 4 hours on the road. I would like to convert them to grease. What parts do I need?

Converting from oil to grease is really just a matter of completely cleaning off ALL the existing oil and repacking everything with a high-quality grease like # L11390 . Going the other way (grease to oil) can be a bit more complicated, but for this application it's really as simple as that. If you can tell me what size your seal is (or the number that's stamped on it) I'd be happy to recommend the right replacement.
