Solution for Sidewinder Pin Box that Doesnt Straighten Out Totally When Towed Behind Truck

Question:

I purchased a 2012 cedar creek with a fifth airborne sidewinder hitch. When making turns with my truck it makes an awful noise as the pivot rotates. The rotation is not smooth...it catches as it rotates. Also, while driving straight I can tell that the trailer is not always straight behind the truck as I can feel the truck jerk at times when the trailer straightens t align to the truck. Have you heard of this happening? Is there something I can adjust or perhaps the turret needs to be replaced? I have a drawing of the turret from Quest Technologies. The customer part number is S800 E810. Thanks for any help you can provide

When we hear about the situation you described where the Sidewinder doesn't straighten totally out as it's being towed behind the truck and there is noise around corners the issue is that the wedge isn't the correct one for the hitch being used or it's not properly installed.

What fifth wheel hitch does your customer have? Do you know which wedge they are using? Ideally you use a custom wedge like the # SWW-06 which is designed for the jaws of a B and W hitch.

Question:

I'm not sure what you mean by "what wedge is the customer using"? what piece of the hitch are you referring to?

The wedge is what locks the fifth wheel hitch tight to the Sidewinder. It's designed to match the shape of the jaws of the hitch. Check out the picture I attached for more info.
