Advantage of Electric-Over-Hydraulic Brake Actuator

I have a 9000 pound boat on a triple axle aluminum trailer with 4 disc brake setup I am having difficulty stopping with my 1 ton pickup I would like to put the hydraulic over electric if it would help

The main benefit of an electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) actuator is faster response time than a purely hydraulic setup. Switching from a surge coupler to an EOH actuator will not necessarily increase braking force. You might want to check on the condition of your four existing disc brake assemblies to make sure they are properly adjusted.

You can also consider an additional set of disc brakes for the one axle that does not currently have brakes. This is more likely to give you the increased stopping power you're looking for with your F-350.

The linked page displays disc brakes kits which can be selected based on the axle's weight rating, usually found on a sticker or plate on the axle itself. You can also refer to the linked article that explains the whole process of adding disc brakes to an axle.

For example, if you have a 5200-lb axle with a 5-bolt brakes flanges and if your spindle uses bearings 25580 and 15123 you can use kit # K2HR526D. This kit has the 6-on-5-1/2 wheel bolt pattern and it works for axles rated for 5200 to 6000-lbs.
