How to Choose Correct Replacement Bearings and Seal

I need to get new bearing seals grease seals for my trailer. The outer diameter on the hub is 2.55inch and the shaft size is 1.685inch , what size do you recommend?

Expert Reply:

If you could not find the bearing numbers when you took apart your hub assembly you are going to need to know the inner diameter of your spindle where the grease seal and bearings ride in order to get the correct replacements.

Use a digital caliper such as # 301-17068 and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the seal bearings ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure.

I've also added a link to a help article on common bearing sizes, as well as a link to our available bearing kits.
