Will Top Bolt of Curt Hitch 13333 Rust When Installed on 2018 Dodge Ram
Question:
I installed the curt 13333 class 3 trailer hitch to my 2018 Dodge Ram. I made sure all boots were torqued to its specifications. However, at the required torque, the flat head socket cap screw doesn’t lay flush with the bumper and stick out a few centermeters. This doesn’t allow me to the trailer ball hole cape and leaves the socket cap screw exposed to dirt, dust, and rain which will cause it to rust. I was told by curt this is how it works, but that doesn’t seem right. What is your take on this?

Expert Reply:
I certainly can understand your concern for the the top bolt of the Curt hitch part # 13333 being exposed to weather and causing rust potentially. But due to how many of these we have sold and us not getting any feedback that the bolt ended up getting rusted I would agree with Curt and say it's totally fine.
