This means the loaded carrier should not weigh more than 50-percent of the hitch's rated capacity.

You may care to add the dual lock set # RM-316 to secure both the adapter and the cargo carrier. Another worthwhile item to consider is a simple pair of cam buckle straps like # 317-412080 (6-foot) or # EM34409 (8-foot) that can help steady the loaded carrier in the adapter/hitch to prevent excessive motion as you travel.
