How to Test the Toledo Actuator Part # 16006

I recently purchased the trailer with this actuator on it, and I do not know how to test the surge brake actuator to make sure its working effectively. Is there a manual or a procedure that I could use to verify its working as it should?

Have you tried to tow the trailer to see if the brakes engage? If this is not an option then you will want to first make sure the master cylinder is full of fluid and then use a wooden plank to compress the actuator and see if that engages the brakes. You can also pull the breakaway to see if that engages the brakes but there is not a manual that I am aware of. If the brakes don't engage then you will want to look for leaks or check for broken pieces. We currently offer the following replacement parts for the Toledo Actuator part # 16006.

Shock Absorber # 1844-2
Master Cylinder # 10614
Pivot Shaft # 1829
Nylon Pivot Bushing # 1745
